Come and listen to the story of a brave woman who hitchhiked her way from Croatia to the Islands of French Polynesia, TWICE. Enjoy authentic Polynesian dance performance to the sound of log drums!

About Ana Bakran, our guest speaker: A Croatian woman who decided to turn losing a client and closing down her company into an opportunity to fulfill her childhood dream. She left her hometown in April of 2013 and hitchhiked to Bora Bora. It took almost 4 years to get there. Upon returning to her hometown, she decided to write a book on the Marquesas Islands and she hitchhiked across the Pacific to get to French Polynesia once again. She lived with the islanders for 14 months before she finished writing the book and changed her life 180 degrees. She will share her unique life story with you.

About the performers, Manahiti Dancers and Drummers: A Hungarian troupe of female dancers and male drummers performing the rhythms and dances of Polynesia. In Polynesian culture, all the dances tell stories. The Manahiti troupe follows this tradition, they perform old dances, original choreography and drum solos based on the traditional rhythms and movements of the islands. The joy of life, vitality, and energy of the islanders shines through the performance!
