DEX Songwriting Expo is coming to you in its most professional and practical form, yet. Artisjus is organising four entire afternoons, each focusing on a specific topic and performer. The mission remains the same: facilitating information sharing and networking within the songwriting community, helping professionals learn from fellow professionals.

At these four events ticket holders will have the chance to grow professionally by participating in masterclasses and small group mentoring workshops.

"I've worked in almost every conceivable job in the music industry for the last 25 years - from being a musician, performer, producer, arranger, to a mixing and mastering engineer. The problems I've encountered have led me to research solutions that I’m excited to share with you."

  • The audience’s perspective: music for the heart, the mind or the body?
  • What’s more important: performer or performance? Song or production?
  • Qualities of a great performer
  • What makes a performance unforgettable?
  • The fine line in songwriting: originality vs. familiarity, relatability vs. relevance
  • Does the track feel good? The magic of tempo / key, main building blocks
  • Arranging for success: supporting the song / performance, preparing for a great mix
  • Recording, mixing, and mastering: separating myths from solutions

“I deliver this masterclass every year in Los Angeles and I thoroughly enjoy witnessing the lightbulb moments when the audience grasps a previously puzzling topic, like why they remember a melody or a lyric. I aim to inspire participants by offering fresh perspectives that connect existing information in new ways."

At the end of the masterclass we will open up for Q&A.
