Our curator for December is drummer Attila Gyárfás. Coming from the jazz world, his primary focus is currently on sound- and texture-based improvisation. The topic of his first concert was conceived by a somewhat pragmatic dilemma: how can one practice late night at home without distrubing the neighbours? As his answer, he managed to find a surprisingly exuberant sound - full of possible variations, woven with as delicate effects and sensitive textures that are almost peculiar to string instruments. In the upstairs living room-like space of Manyi, we will have the chance to learn what kind of music these quiet sounds can make up if accompanied by the breathless attention of 30 witnesses. PLEASE DO NOT BE LATE as the noise you make may have an even larger effect on the concert as it usually has.
