In his third and last night as our curator, Attila Gyárfás returns to his roots. Being one of the most important singers of the classic jazz era, Billie Holiday’s personal and deeply human manner as a performer impresses everyone. How can the songs of ‘Lady Day’ be played with keeping her radiant sincerity but avoiding falling into the tempting trap of nostalgy? To answer this challenge, Gyárfás has invited musicians who are just as familiar with jazz as with other segments of contemporary music: rising star of Hungarian jazz, Emma Nagy will sing, Máté Pozsár will teach us to evoke and destruct harmonies on his synth, while Bálint Bolcsó will build instant electro-acoustic sound collages with the laid back attitude of a contemporary composer.

Emma Nagy - vocals
Máté Pozsár - keys
Bálint Bolcsó - electronics
